Grand Tour of the Ercolanese Academy: A Journey Through Bourbon History, Art, and Flavors

On June 1st, 2025, an unmissable event awaits lovers of history, art, and fine cuisine: the Grand Tour of the Ercolanese Academy.
A day designed for those who wish to rediscover the cultural roots of the Bourbon era, walking among architectural wonders, archaeological remains, and authentic flavors of the Vesuvius region.

The day begins in the morning, with a meeting point at 9:45 AM at the majestic Royal Palace of Portici, an 18th-century jewel and symbol of the Bourbon dynasty. At 10:00 AM, a guided tour of the Royal Apartments kicks off, where frescoes, period furnishings, and opulent halls recreate the refined atmosphere of Neapolitan Enlightenment. Once the visit concludes, the tour continues with a stroll along the Golden Mile, passing historic villas and scenic views, all the way to Piazza Colonna del Plebiscito d’Italia—one of the area’s most iconic landmarks.

Around 1:00 PM, the group moves to the pizzeria Le Danzatrici for a convivial lunch. The menu includes a pizza of your choice, accompanied by a drink or a glass of wine, followed by tiramisu and coffee—a delicious break to recharge before the final leg of the tour. At 2:00 PM, participants will head to the headquarters of Pro Loco Hercvlanevm, where each guest will receive a small gift and enjoy free access to the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum—one of the best-preserved ancient sites in the world and a true treasure chest of Roman life in the 1st century.

The package, offered at the symbolic price of €30, includes the guided tour of the Royal Palace of Portici, a full lunch at the pizzeria, and entry to the archaeological park. Extras, train tickets, and transfers are not included.
